What is a District Meetup? Meetups are free, in-person convenings designed to connect school and district leaders across a specific region. During meetups, districts come together to share learnings, establish best practices, and build a supportive network of education leaders working towards a common goal of improving student outcomes.

"This was a great reminder that we are all facing the same dilemma in our schools and there is no clear answer to "fix" it. The journey is different for each of us so it is beneficial to hear from other districts what is and isn't working for them." - Dallas MTSS Meetup attendee

Evolving Your Tier 1: Shifting from All to Every Student

Embedding equity into systems and culture in our districts and schools is an important and ongoing process. Using a more critical lens to ensure we are supporting ALL students is both a priority and often times a question mark. How can we make sure historically disadvantaged students don’t slip through the cracks and their voices are heard?

Student-Driven Systems: From District-Level Planning to Classroom-level Conversations

In this panel, we’ll explore:

  • How districts leverage student voice data to drive equity-focused strategic planning?
  • How schools work to prioritize equity into their multi-tiered systems of support?
  • What conversations about equity look like at the school and classroom level?

Sharing Areas of Strength and Creating a Plan for Growth in Your District

Reflecting on the Interventions and Progress Monitoring Toolkit activity, participants will be asked to identify (1) an area of strength and (2) an area of growth within their district related to interventions and tiered systems of support. Panorama Education will break participants into roundtable discussion groups, mixing attendees who have a strength in a specific topic area (for example, creating structured meetings with intervention teams) with those looking to grow in that same topic area. Participants will then switch to a second roundtable group and flip from discussing their strength area to discussing their growth area, or vice versa. Goals of this session include:

  • Consult with other districts within a specific area of MTSS-related focus relevant to your district and where you’re currently at in your MTSS journey
  • Get one-on-one feedback around challenges your district is facing and set concrete next steps to make progress towards positive change
  • Build relationships with fellow districts, creating an accountability partnership with the intention of supporting and checking in with each other following this meetup

“One of the biggest things I walked away with is being able to identify with other practitioners that are facing similar situations and learn from them. Learn stories, be vulnerable to other's ideas, successes, and failures. This really changed the way I think about what we’re going to be doing.” - Phoenix MTSS Meetup attendee
