Math interventions to share with your school and district teams

Recent reports from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) showed the steepest declines in math since the assessment began in the 1990s. Education leaders have even described this decrease in math scores as a global concern. 

A focus on math instruction in the early elementary grades can pay huge dividends down the road and can help to address declines in math scores. This toolkit of interventions includes a set of effective strategies teachers can implement to create a preemptive focus on math fundamentals in the early elementary years.

Each strategy, provided by Panorama's Playbook, includes detailed implementation instructions and step-by-step guides for classroom use.  

• District Leaders: Incorporate these strategies into your districtwide intervention menu. You can also share these resources with your school teams and consider ways to implement interventions consistently districtwide.
  
  
• School Leaders: Bring these strategies to PLCs, staff meetings, or MTSS and Student Support team meetings to share with staff and support students at every tier. 
  
  
• Classroom Teachers and Support Staff: Try these activities in class, small group, or individual settings to support the academic growth of every student.
